Heart Beet Lattes

Roses are red, beets are purple, these lattes are yummy, so get them in your tummy!

Well, I tried…. I promise these lattes are a lot better than my rhyming. 😂

I have a pretty pink drink recipe just in time for Valentine’s Day! It’s made with beet powder! Now if you’re wondering why anyone would want to add beets to a drink, let me explain.

Beets have shown in studies to improve running performance because of the nitrate content in them. They basically help use less oxygen from your blood, which could be good for other Valentine’s Day…. activities? Besides that, beets are also high in minerals and vitamins C and A.

The dark color of beets also gives you a hint that theyre super high in antioxidants that “scavenge” free radicals in the body and help prevent inflammation. Beets also contain glutathiones, glutathione is found in all our cells but is concentrated in the liver where it helps convert toxins into forms that can be flushed out of the body.

So that’s my spiel on beets! We should all eat tons of them! But if you’re not shoveling them into your mouth roasted, raw or pickled, you can now use the powder form in smoothies!

I used the Love Beets powder that I got from Thrive market and I love it! I also used some nut milk, honey and added coconut oil for healthy fats and brain power!

If you want a caffeine free boost, or just a cute latte to make for your honey, try these for Valentine’s Day and sprinkle some rose petals on top!

Here’s the recipe!

Ingredients: (serves 2)

  • 16 oz nut milk
  • 1 tsp beet powder
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1 scoop Vital Proteins collagen
  • Garnish: dried rose petals

  • Heat the milk over the stove until it’s hot but not boiling
  • Add the milk and the rest of the ingredients to a high speed blender (except rose petals)
  • Blend them together until they’re smooth
  • Pour into 2 mugs and serve with rose petals on top
